Emotions play such a vital role in aligning with your desires. If "that what is likened to itself is drawn" then what are you drawing to you? While your current manifestations let you know what you have attracted - your emotions will tell you what you will attract.
Often we want something because we know it will make us feel good. Because it will make us feel safe. Money will make us feel secure, prosperous and free. Health makes us feel vital and frisky. We believe these things will bring us good emotions.
Emotions as an indicator
Emotions also indicate how close or far you are from vibrating on the same wavelength as what you want to manifest.
If you are feeling good, or satisfied, then you are floating right towards your desires. If you feel bad, anxious and frustrated- this is just simply an indication that you and your inner being are not in sync.
You inner being does not judge or punish, it just disagrees. This rift between your thoughts and inner being shows up in your body as negative feelings and emotions.
The Emotional Scale
Satisfaction allows bridge the gap between negative and positive emotions. Sometimes when something comes along and really knocks you off your axis- it can be a little difficult to make a flying leap from deeply negative emotions back to purely positive thinking.
The jump from anxiety and fear back to joy and happiness is one that we can not make easily. If you read a worrying article about health or the economy, it can cause instant negative emotions.
We learned above that this is just your inner being disagreeing with your thoughts and emotions. But, how to do you make that jump back to happy?
That is where satisfaction comes in. On the emotional scale - satisfaction or contentment falls right in the middle of this scale. It is neutral ground.
If you can't jump to joy and bliss, you can at least find your way to contentment and satisfaction with greater ease. If you can find your way there softly, you are no longer vibrating at the wavelength of negative. Thus you are no longer attracting negative things.

Catching it early. The key to finding satisfaction easier is to note the negative emotion early and quickly. Focus on the parts of your situation that make you feel good or at least some ease.
Sleeping or napping. Powering down for a moment can stop negative momentum.
Start your day with satisfaction. It creates an emotional foundation for your day that buffers against negative emotion, but also brings you closer to positive emotions.
Move from satisfaction to joy by saying: "Satisfied and ready for more."
